Amphi Theater- Shilparamam
Just see from the iconic structure of HITEC city located about 14 kms from Hyderabad at Madhapur. You'll find the impressive gateway with huge terra-cotta horses that leads to a village with festive looking precincts. This is Shilparamam, the arts, crafts and cultural village of Hyderabad.
The amphitheatre provides the perfect ambience for people to relax and enjoy a variety of cultural programmes like classical music, dance & folk art performances every weekend. The central point of the Crafts Village, the Amphitheatre, with a capacity of 1,500 people, forms the backdrop for performances by artists from across the country. Theatre plays and dance performances are held here regularly. The Amphitheatre has given an impetus to folk arts like Andhra Natyam, Yakshagana and all traditional arts. Here various workshops, seminars and Museums Art Galleries take place. Performances by popular classical dancers, music maestros and other upcoming young artistes are a regular feature here.
The performances at the amphitheatre are dominated by the folk and tribal art. This provides unique opportunity to the less privileged rural folks who can come here, participate and meet the popular artists. The dance forms popular here are Koya of the hunting class; Dhimsa; Dappulu, and Veera Natyam.
